To bring a little Cheer this Christmas!

Founded in 2009, SMILE Sri Lanka is a registered organisation with a mission to aid the less fortunate kids of Sri Lanka. The 6th annual Christmas Carnival was held this year, on Saturday, the 26tht of December 2015. The Carnival previously held at the ‘Small Club Grounds’ of St. Thomas’ College, took place at “Mount Park”, Mount Lavinia this year.

In 2009, the Carnival was initiated with 250 kids that grew to an 800 kids in 2013 and accommodated nearly 2000 kids last year. Children from Galle, Kurunegela, Piliyandala, Panadura and Colombo, participated in the event. We hope to bring more smiles at this year’s Christmas Carnival with your great compassion. The initiative was motivated by three primary objectives:

  1. To provide an unforgettable experience to less fortunate and orphaned youth of Sri Lanka.
  2. To build a growing workforce with the same mission in creating more experiences that will put smiles on the poor and orphaned kids of society.
  3. To provide counselling services and education services to orphanages, with equipment and teachers to train children in Art, Music, English, Computer Studies and other relevant fields.

The Chariot was proud to sponsor and hand out 1,800 food parcels to these little children, on a truly memorable day which turned out to be a wonderfully humbling experience.
